apply an old(SWMBO will take a dim view of you using the best iron!) hot iron to the remaining edging to soften adhesive holding it to worktop. sometimes it will require a scraper to start the removal process.If you are not replacing a whole length score with a stanley knife where you wish to join old to new so as a clean break can be made
