Purchased a 'Bosch Exxcel 1400' approximately 7.5 years ago, no problems until recently, now it is not taking the softener from the dispenser during its cycle. Is this something that I can fix or do I need an engineer?

Ironically, I stumbled upon the answer to my problem on this site, followed the instructions (many thanks 'j ahmed') & we are up and softening washloads again

Note: I didn't need the stage 'Then undo the big bar that supports the drum springs (4 x TORX)...' & 'Remove the two pipes...' was actually 3, but I'd guess that I have a later version of this model.
