My recliner goes on a standing position and recline position. The standing position works but I can't get it to recline. Why?

Most of the Electic recliners have Worm gear shafts and the gear mounts come loose and causes the shaft to slip,some ahve worm gear sissor lifts.and the sissors can get bent. check with the manufactor,some haave long teerm warranties on the mechs and motors.
