I have stripped down the simple workings of my Flymo Domestic 400L, there is a simple system external mag adjacent to a sealed condensor/HT lead. I have checked the plug, checked the corrosion on the mag surface and even checked wiring to the throttle switch, but I can't get a spark

not likely to have failure of the 'coil'.
are you sure there is no spark?

I am sure this machine had contact breaker points under the flwheel, clean/replace points
