Thaw my frozen register?

My Sharp XE-A102 can be turned on/off with the key but will not respond to any operations. Any thoughts?

The display is illuminated with the last sale amount. The register is completely unresponsive to any keystroke, but can be turned off with the key. When I turn it on it reverts to the same display amount.

Can you see any numbers on the display when you press the numeric keys? Can you describe the symptom as much as possible?
