New seat cables are too short?

Ford Fiesta Zetec 03, seat-locking cables broken. New ones ordered through Ford are about 1.5 inches to short.

I guess you have compared the old and new cables side by side.
Suggest that you take both cables to Ford Dealership, you bought the new ones from, and show them / ask them to explain how new can service old
