Error code "LE" on my LG Washer model WM1812CW?

My washer is 15 months old. Today I was running a full load and there was an error code "LE". The book says "Overload in motor" and to unplug and call for service. We did unplug it and then plugged it back in and ran a very small load through a cycle. It seems to be fine. Do we really need to call for service or are we risking big problems if we continue to use it?

LE REFERS TO LOCKED ENGINE. SEVERAL DIFFERENT THINGS CAN CAUSE THIS ERROR CODE TO BE DISPLAYED.

1ST, USING THE WRONG SOAP WILL CAUSE THIS PROBLEM - USE HE SOAP ONLY!!! - IF YOU HAVE BEEN USING THE WRONG SOAP, BEFORE CALLING FOR SERVICE I WOULD ADVISE YOU TO RUN A FEW SHORT CYCLES WITH HOT WATER ONLY - THIS SHOULD HELP IN REMOVING ANY SOAP RESIDUE FROM THE SOAP SENSOR AND BOOT AREA.

2ND, THE CONTROL BOARD MAY BE DEFECTIVE - YOU NEED TO CHECK VOLTAGE OUTPUTS TO VERIFY.

3RD, BE SURE TO CHECK THE WIRING HARNESS - IT HAS BEEN KNOWN THAT WIRES SOMETIMES BECOME FRAYED AND LOOSE RESISTANCE.

4TH, THE SOAP SUDS SENSOR MAY BE FAULTY AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.

Mine does that too, but it's because I'm using the wrong kind of detergent. Make sure your soap says HE for High Effeciency. It's a lower sudsing soap.

Having the exact same problem - exact same model. Did you have to call service or did unplugging it for a while work? Ours is about the same ag e too.
