Navigate from control panel to Network Connections - you should see a Wireless Icon - if you don't see one you probably need to install the driver for your machine's wireless device.
You may see one with a red cross on it - right click on the Wireless Icon and select View Available Wireless Networks - I see Six of them when I do it on my machine - connect to the one you believe to be your own wireless router - very probably the one with the strongest signal.
