This has happend to my Panasonic Inverter. Have been told its the heating element. (The magnatron has already been replaced on my 3 yr old microwave). Plus the ceramic screw holder inside machine have disintergrated. Panasonic have offered new "chasis" but I am considering asking for money back because I feel these machines are not fit for purpose!
