Renault Clio II - 03 Plate Heater fan blowing constantly?

Hi there, I've got a Renault Clio MII 03 Plate with the additional climate control pack.

I used my heater yesterday to demist my windows first thing in the morning and now it won't go off!?!

Its a button press of all the controls, even with the 'off' button illuminated the fan still fire out air at full whack.

When I put on the heating/ air con, it allows me to slow the fan down a bit, but setting 1-3 still fire out when normally they would idle.

I was thinking from reading the other questions that it might be the heating resistor, but at 104 quid for a new one plus 3.5 hours labour I want to make sure.

I can get a mate to fit it but I would be worried about getting the right part.

Can anyone advise if they have heard of this problem before, and if its likely to be the resistor?

I have managed to isolate the fan by pulling the fuse, but i'll need to get it fixed. Any help would be great!

Hi Derek, I've had a look at the wiring diagrams and depending on the level of the airconditioning system fitted either fully automatic or manual control the blower fan is either controlled by a "aircon fan control unit & the A/C control panel" (auto control) or by the "cold air fan control unit & the A/C control panel" (manual control) unlike most other cars there does not seem to be the usual resistor pack for the different fan speed settings.
