how can i fix my gearbox it won't re centre itself?

I have a W reg ford focus manual gearbox, it seems as though when i push the stick to the left, there is no sprung tension, and therefore will not re-centre itself, pushing to the right is fine though. Is there anyway i could fix this?, do i need a specialist? or indeed a new gearbox?

Hi Ya...the return spring is broken at the bottom of the gearstick. If you pull the gearshift surround up and get a torch, you will see the spring right at the bottom. If memory serves me right they are 2 or 3 quid from a ford dealer and they charge around £30-40 to fit it...Gary
