I have instructions to change the receipt function to journal and it indicates to use the N1 button. I can't find this. What does it mean or how can I alter this mode.

It refers to the table below it, so N represents a number from the table. for example, if you want tax to print and you want receipt off, then you would enter 01 SUBTOTAL (0 for N1, 1 for N2)
