Battery removal on vauxhall vectra?

How do you stop the alarm from sounding when taking the battery out? Vauxhall Vectra SRi year 2000
Big Tone, June 2006
I know this is an old post, but for the benefit of anyone who actually bothers to use the search function-

Open bonnet and slacken, but DO NOT remove, the battery negative cable.
Turn on ignition (dash lights on but DONT start engine).
Turn ignition off then within 15 seconds pull the negative cable from the terminal.
Tie the cable back to make sure it does not fall onto the terminal then remove the positive cable, undo the battery clamp and remove.

Have you got a battery booster pack,if so simply connect it to the lead terminals as you take the battery out,not sure if it would work but i used one to stop my radio needing to be decoded while my battery was on charge, good luck anyway........John

You cant. It is a standard security feature. It stops car theves from disconnecting your battery to either stop or disable your car alarm. It can be a pain in the arse but you will have to bear with it. I am sure you don't take your battery off that much.
Kind Regards
