What am I missing to fix my Kenwood Chef A701A?

My Kenwood Chef A701a recently stopped working when the Nylon/Plastic(?) Planetary gear disintegrated. I have obtained a new metal replacement but in trying to put it all together find that the hollowed steel shaft which fits through the centre of the P.G. and holds the various attachments in place simply drops back out. Clearly it needs some form of washer/circlip/e-clip or spring clip to hold it in position. Can anybody please advise what is needed and where it fits in the assembly.

usually there are felt washers inside the gear race that
the planetary gear runs round. The spring washers that
hold these pads in place are the same as the one that
goes round the round part at the top of the square driven shaft
