Hoover (WD1300 A8585) fills up too much and overflows?

My hoover fills up too much and overflows out through an opening on the rear top of the manchine, this outlet is connected to a plastic container that runs around part of the drum at the back of the machine.

I think this is either a broken pressure switch or that the message from the pressure switch is somehow not being acted on by the program thingummy.
