I think I have sand in the telescopic lens of my Coolpix S3000?

I dropped my Nikon Coolpix S3000 in the sand and think there may be sand in the telescopic lens as I am now getting a "lens error" message How can I repair this

Sand and water are cameras worst enemies. The camera should be seen by a professional repairer. Could be expensive if the camera is no longer under guarantee.
