How do I fix my Toshiba VCR Recorder/DVD Recorder?

My Toshiba DVR5 VCR Recorder/DVD Recorder just stopped and since it controls my TV, my TV will not change channels and will not raise or lower the volume. So far as I can tell, no one repairs these recorders. Is there anything I can do?

not sure about VCR/DVD RECORDER you can pull out scart from tv and plug in airiel and work tv without it
