How do i fix a new handle onto my washing machine?

My handle broke off my Indesit WD12S washine machine and i ordered a new one. I'm not sure how to put the handle on, or how to take all the mechanics out of the bit where the handle goes, Please HELP!!!

I only wish i knew..

I was told to simple slip out the metal bar and it will all come apart.. how ever... make sure you make a note of the layout of the door before you do.
