Sharp XE-A102 Cash Register?

When I ring in an amount using the number 1 key the cash register beeps and displays E on the register. I have always used number I before does anyone know how I can stop this from happening.

It sounds like someone has accidentally changed the settings for department 1. The setting you need will depend upon whether you need tax on that department.
