My DVD recorder says it cant read discs?

My DVD recorder says it cant read discs
It is only 20 months old. It is an LG DRT398H
Just wondering if any one else has had this problem and how to repair.

try using a disc cleaner as the laser head could be dirty nothing to lose by trying
