Not worth bodging it you'll be back on the roof in about six months.
Get new style bitumen sheet with same, six inch I believe most are, profile. Remove the securing bolts and mark level of the bolt holes on the next sheet so you know roughly where they are. Slide in place the new sheet/s and bolt back down again this saves 1. Removing the sheet/s 2. Adding extra support for the bitumen sheet.
3. Prevent having to carry out a bodge repair twice a year.
