I have a Ariston LD87 with fault code AL03. How do i fix it?

Hi Alberto,

Thanks for your recommendation to use Werner Almesberger's graphical guide. The instructions were easy to follow, pictures were helpful. Our problem was exactly the same, a small piece of the cutlery basket had broken off and was stuck in the pump. It took about 45 mins for us to fix, in between following the instructions. Would definately recommend checking it out to others if you have a similar problem and are wanting to do it yourself. Cheers

Hi,

I got the AL03 on my Ariston LD 87. I did follow Werner Almesberger's graphical guide

an everything was fixed. (btw, thanks a lot for it, Werner).

The problem I had was exactly the same Werner described in his guide: a piece of plastic that's been broken off the bottom of the cutlery basket was allocated inside the pump. It seems to be the same one that Werner showed in his picture!!

So the question is: how is it possible that Ariston is providing a cutlery basket whose material is so weak that it will finish getting broken and blocking the pump!! this is simply incredible (and unacceptable from a minimum quality expectancy).

I added som dissolvent that dissolves fat etc. Then added near boiling water, and after waiting a while and trying a few times; the machine started again!

Answer on AL03 error on Ariston LD-87 (LD87, LD 87).
Like the answer is correct, i discovered the same problem. Somhow the hose was full wit dirt and the pump was not able to put out the water. I followed the instructions on http://www.almesberger.net/ld87/al03.html and now its working again.

Please beware, after opening you might get an error H20. Just put off power from the mains and restart it.

it means that it can not drain .You have to check to see if the drain motor is blocked,or the drain hose is blocked.

My ld87 had this error as well - it's a blocked drain. It comes up if the water hasn't completely emptied after 4mins. Tech recommended taking out filters, checking for foreign matter around the exit holes. If this didn't clear it, pull out dishwasher, disconnect hose from where it connects into drain pipe and lie it as flat as possible into bucket on it's side, then try plunging from in the dishwasher to see if this frees it. All else fails log a service call.
