my ds lite when switched on goes into loading mode but then does not come out resulting in not being able to play games

sometimes the contacts in the slot wehre you put the games cart gets dirty,i would suggest getting a cotton bud and putting some solvent on it like methylayted spirit or medicinal alcohol and wiping it side to side at the back of the slot where the games cart contacts are you can just see tham at the right angle in the light they are brass
