how can i fix my jones 641 sewing machine?

I have a Jones 641 sewing machine and i am unable to wind the bobbin.I could only wind it with the needle going up and down, the same problem Gemma was having. I have oiled it as suggested by (drivewithken). I have managed to stop the needle going up and down, its making all the right noises, the small black wheel is touching the large balance wheel which is turning but the small black wheel does not, but i can turn it by hand ? Now it will not even wind with the needle going up and down either?..can anyone help me ...sheila

Hello Sheila,
The most common fault on the 641 is seized bobbin winders, the best way round it is to put a few drops of WD40 on top of the winder pin and let it run down, take an electric drill and place it over the winder pin, switch the drill on slowly and it will free the winder off, put a plastic apron on because of any minute drops of oil that may spash on you, have you made sure the windewr rubber is perfectly dry ?
