trying to program an ER 150?

I really am having a hard time programming a Sam4S ER 150 cash register. I just don't get the instructions.
I need to know how to put in a 5% tax rate on all sales,in both dept. 1, and dept. 2. Am I the only one having a hard time with these instructions?
