extensions not working and have,blue,white,orange cables to refit in the main t/box but not sure where to place them in the box.Is it the bottom half of the socket box they should be fixed and in what order

Remove the faceplate from the Master socket. You will see either four or six connectors on the back of it. You need to connect ONLY the following wires. Blue & White to connector 2 and White & Blue to connector 5. Connect NO others. They are not needed and can cause problems. You will need an IDC tool to do this job. Try Toolstation for cheap one.
