very little info what's the make where did you buy it and how long have you had it?
replacement it must be a recent purchase
other than that if still under warranty/guarantee then it's repair but only if it is proved a fault or you may get charged for any work. Some kettles do boil longer than you expect to ensure water hygene in risky countries.
