How can i repair my old guttering?

My guttering was erected in 1982 and is the semi circle type
Overall in good condition as i live in a bungalow and clean it regulary and therefore do not wish to replace all of it
Two questions please
1) There is a join that is above my Central heating vent - i assume/know the seal has gone - tried using gutter mastic on it but obviously the heat off the vent soon degrades it. Any one any ideas how i can stop the leak from the joint?
2) Any ideas where i can get any "end stops"?
Thanks in advance

The answer listed above is DANGEROUS under no situation should you extend a flue with and I quote a bit of pipe. if you need to change a flue you should contact a local heating engineer for professional advice.

can you not extend the outlet vent , with a 1 foot pipe, to clear the guttering? or put a small metal shelter, between the gutter and the heating vent" that should stop the heat getting to the the joint..
