sometimes when l set the tuner to record a series programe it does not record and sometimes when something has been recorded it disappears what would cause this to happen

Mine does the same thing. It especially seems to do it ater I've turned down yet another check for new channels, which happens every couple of days and is very inconvienient. I have to set a manual look for new channels to get it start recording again. I also can't get it to record using the weekly repeat function whatever I do. I would return it but that means losing teh data i have stored on it.
