replacing thermostat in fridge/freezer Beko?

just bought a new thermostat which fits into unit inside fridge with light fitting, seems a simple exchange but one part of the coil goes out of this unit and i cannot see where it ends up, it is a Beko CDA752. This female pensioner needs some advice please.

pull the thermostat phile out of the hole carefully (coil as you called it),then push the new one down the hole until it will go no further
