Difficult - may be best to buy a replacement.
The weakness with these and similar things is the cable - people tend to coil the cable tightly and it bends sharply coming out of the adapter body. Over time the inner conductors stretch, get thinner and eventually snap in two.. It may also have developed an internal fault but I would first suspect the DC cable exit bend as the culprit
