How do you adj magnito air gap?

Have a old engine, need to adj air gap on mag,I pulled flywheel off but how do you set gap? on magnito?

That's good advice - but hard when the mag is under the flywheel.......

Sort of trial and error - engines built like this are so old, that usually the mag stator plate has witness marks where the old bolts were tightened down. Use these as a guide - it'll be close enough. If it's a new mag, trial and error involving getting it as close as possible, trial fit the flywheel and check it rotates - adjust - repeat until it hits the flywheel, then back it off 'a bit'. It's NOT that critical.

Use a post card or business card. That is how I have done it forever. Rotate the fly wheel to the counter weights, place card between mag and flywheel then tighten and remove card.
