how do i put my new coals on my gas fire?

my cat decided to play with my coals i have bought some new ones and have no idea about putting them on the right way. the fire is:
cannon model 28236G
type: precept D/L charcoal

I have the same gasfire, and would like to replace the coal too, but I cannot even find the spare parts, nevermind the instructions set. Sorry.
