Middle ring on gas hob not working?

We have installed a Kenwood ck414 range cooker with 5 gas rings and electric oven and grill. The only problem with it is the centre ring is not lighting. There is a spark and you can smell gas but no flame. Please help as we need it for Christmas. Thanks

Just tried a seperate gas igniter but only got half the ring lit and didn't stay lit. The middle of the ring doesn't light either (its a double burner). Thanks for response.

press the spark generator and slowly switch the gas tap on whilst spark is clicking.does it now light.You could always light it with a match or separate gas igniter as a temporary measure
