How do I resolve my decreasing mpg?

My Vauxhall Corsa 09 plate 1.3CDTi was averaging 65 mpg.Recent trips have been short runs. MPG dropped to 61.Therefore decided on a long run of 400mile round trip,mostly motorway at average 70 mph.MPG now dropped to 59.9 .Any advise please.
