1. Knocking nails in the wall still fine to mount a frame or drilling the way to go? Is drilling more secure?

2. Oil painting - best to frame or mounting onto canvas fine?

Why not use picture hooks that have pin nails or are these frame very heavy? also don't forget to test wall for electrics
Why mount on to canvas ? is it not painted on canvas if so frame it. You can go to local library and read up on framing and wall fixings.
