ALBA compact mp3 player 2GB?

i had this for xmas connected it to pc and put a few songs to it i listened to it then the battery ran out now it wont charge no light and my laptop cant detect it ? any suggestions only used once gutted x

I do not think that it can be mended however return the product under the 1 year guarentee for a replacement
