why does washer trip electric meter?

i have a whirlpool g2p dw1 it does not empty it leaves the bottom of washer full of water.it now trips the meter box when i switch it on

Sounds like you have a short circuit somewhere.

I had a similar problem and traced the faulty wire but now my machine switches on but the programme will not start.
