My Golf GTI Mk 4 drivers rear door will not shut! HELP!!!?

I have a golf GTI Mk 4 and the drivers rear door will not shut, its like the latch is not working so when i shut the door it just bangs back and not even catches - any help greatly appreciated x

Try lifting the door handle up from the outside and at the same time lift up the latch in the door with a screwdriver.
