Picasso Hdi ABS Ring ?

Can anyone advise on how to replace the ABS ring on the drivers side ? I know it will need to be heated up to red hot for it to slide onto CV joint . But I need to know if I can fit it without removeing the shaft from the gear box ?

so is there no way of fitting this ring without removing the shaft from the gearbox ?

Sometimes easier to fit a new outer CV joint on the shaft rather than get involved trying to fit just the ABS ring.Depends on what funds you have to repair it I suppose?

you can leave the shaft in the g/box but the suspension etc. will have to be stripped because it is a solid ring and will have to slip over the joint

you will need to strip front suspension, remove caliper and disc, hub nut and the shaft can be removed,it will be easier to repair on the bench,if the ring is damaged you may have to obtain a complete joint as they come as one unit, had a ring split on my own car a few months ago and managed to braize it together and very gently slip it back onto the joint and re inforced it with a good glue and some sealant and its been fine since
