I put a light saving bulb in a hanging ceiling light and it was working fine for months when it was kept at the brightest setting. It was turned down and the bulb blew and now the light doesn't work at all?

Is this a problem with the dimmer switch or with a fuse somewhere?

Energy saving bulbs are not compatible with dimmer switches and can't be used,they will blow the bulbs.
