What should I replace a Vaillant VCW GB 242 EH with?

I'm thinking about replacing my Vaillant VCW GB 242 EH. To make it as easy as possible I'm trying to find out if any replacements exist which would use the same installation template. With recent leglislation I guess it'll have to be a condensing boiler but I would hope Vaillant would make a drop in replacement so it would mate up with existing pipework easily. Wouldn't hurt it it was a bit more powerfull too. Any ideas?

Hi,

I made the same mistake as you are proposing.

I had a Vaillant and I thought all the pipes and flue hole being there things would be easier.

Well I got another Vaillant combi and that was my biggest mistake. I now regret it.

I find them unreliable. From day one they have caused me pain.

And their customer service is rubbish. Even though I have a break-down cover with them.

Make a long term decision. Get the best boiler for your house. Avoid Vaillant.

Sorry mate
You dont stand a chance. Vaillant dont make a 'direct replacement'.
There's a lot of cheap boilers out there, but if your happy with the vaillant and you can afford another thats what I'd stick with.
