The card with the the code details came but no number written on it. Paid for a code in a web site but it was incorrect any help would be appreciated

If you go to the dealer who sold the car when it was new, they may still have a record of the key code.
If not, any Ford dealer can get it for a fee.
No chance of going direct to the manufacturer, they will only refer you back to the dealer.
