How can I take apart my Kenwood FP310 Food Processor?

I have unscrewed the 3 screws in the base unit and released the clip so seperating the two halves of the processor. I believe I now need to take off the drive shaft and perhaps the on / off switch? How do I release the drive shaft which seems to be preventing the top half from seperating from the base. The model does not work but when the wire is waggled it starts and stops. The plug and fuse have been found to be ok, and so I need to check the wire inside the body. Can anybody help please?
