Fit Tripping Device Spring to Hotpoint DF62 Dishwasher?

The spring on the detergent sliding door on my Hotpoint DF62 Dishwasher broke. I have bought a new spring but cannot see how to fit this into place with the sliding door in position. Can you please explain the sequence of tasks needed to install the spring.
