20" push mower will fire when primed but then dies, what can I do to fix it, and why does it do it in the first place, i bought it four months ago new.

There is a good chance debris of some kind made its way into carb jet(s). Or, there is a problem with fuel getting into the carb bowl (if so equipped). I would say faulty carb. Since it is this new, why not just return it or have warrenty service done?
