my fuel relay burnt out on my renault espace ?

my fuel relay burnt out and when i turned the key the fuel pump made a strange noise but the car did not turn over or make any attempt to do anything i replaced fuel relay and now the fuel pump sounds like it should with no stranged noises but the car still will not turn over please help
