Fault with Tricity Bendix AW1400W?

Heard some bleeping in the kitchen today. Washing machine stopped with water in it mid cycle at the point of going to spin I think. Was able to drain it but drum didn't turn whilst doing this as it usually would. Having taken some advice I cleaned out water filter which had some garden wire in it but even though have observed the pump is able to clear water quickly, as normal. Tried to restart program. It started to fill and the drum turned for a few rotations as usual, then it added more water as usual while the drum turned. However at the point you expect the program to then run, it just hangs. I then thought perhaps the heater had gone wrong. Tried it on cold wash and also tried rinse programes but same thing happens. It fills normally, but after a few rotations it just stops. Any ideas?
