i've taken out my old radio cassette, bought an adaptor to fit, but my mates tried to fit it and has cut the wire how do i need to reconnect it?

Which wire has he cut? If it's one of the wires coming from the radio, cut the corresponding wire from the plug fitted to the car, connect them together and bind them with tape etc. Wiring diagrams are available from HMCService.com (you need to register though.)
