How can I fix my Hotpoint BWM129?

I have a Hotpoint BWM 129 which gets stuck on the wash cycle and I have to switch it manually to rinse/spin

sounds like a heater fault, either an open circuit element or a broken wire to the heater, there is an outside chance it could be the module though i'm sure EMW will be along shortly to advise you of this.
